The Vietnam visa is issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department, starting from February 2017. This type of visa is granted online.

The visa is valid for 30 days for foreign visitors entering Vietnam for tourism purposes, limited to a single entry and not applicable for business or official purposes.

Starting from August 15, 2023, the Vietnam visa will have a maximum validity of 90 days and can be used for one or multiple entries. The duration and number of entries will be clearly stated on the issued visa.

As of August 15, 2023, Vietnam grants visas to citizens of all countries and territories worldwide, regardless of the purpose of visit - be it tourism, visiting relatives, business, work, etc.—with a maximum stay of 3 months (90 days).

Refer to the regulations to meet the conditions required for a successful Vietnam visa application:

Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Vietnam and have at least 2 blank pages;

Passport-sized photo (recently taken, size 4 x 6cm, jpeg format, size ≤ 2 MB, facing forward, no hat, no glasses, formal attire, white background).

Soft copy of the photo and personal information page of the passport.

6.1. Currently, the process of applying for the Vietnam visa is entirely done through the national government service portal.

6.2. Steps to apply for the visa to Vietnam include:

Step 1: Access the respective link for foreign nationals to apply for the Vietnam visa.

Step 2: Select the "Submit Application" section to proceed.

Step 3: Upload portrait photo and passport photo of the foreign national (and provide confirmation email if the individual is self-submitting the application online.)

Step 4: Complete all required information, including:

Personal information of the foreign national applying for the Vietnam visa, including Last name, Middle name and First name, Gender, Date of birth, Nationality, Place of birth, ID number, Religion, Have you used another passport to enter Vietnam?, Do you have multiple nationalities?, and Information on any legal violations in Vietnam (if applicable).

Information requested for the issuance of the visa, including Visa validity (Single/Multiple entry), Intended entry period from .... to ....

Passport information, including Passport type (Regular/Diplomatic/Official/Other (please specify)), Passport number, Issuing authority/Place of issue, Date of issue, Expiry date, Any other valid passports?

Contact information, including Address, Phone number, Email, Emergency contact information, including the contact person's name, address, phone number, and relationship.

Occupational information: Select your current employment status, including Entrepreneur/Student/Employee/Public servant/Retired/Unemployed/Other (please specify).

Travel information, including Purpose of entry (Tourism/Business/Work/Visit family/Trade/Other (please specify)), Any anticipated contact with an agency/organization/individual in Vietnam? Yes >> Provide details, Planned duration of stay (Number of days), Intended date of entry, Planned entry gate, Planned exit gate, Address of residence in Vietnam.

Step 5: Check the "Agree" box and then select "Agree and Continue."

Step 6: Verify the accuracy of the information and save the code.

Step 7: Pay the visa service fee through the online platform.

Step 8: Check the processing status of the visa.

Step 9: Download and print the visa after the application is approved.

Step 10: Present the visa or verification code at the immigration checkpoint when entering Vietnam.

According to state regulations, there are two fee levels for applying for the Vietnam visa:

$25/Singlentry visa

$50/Multiplentry visa

Note:

- The visa application fee is non-refundable, so it is essential to doublcheck the information in the application.

- When you choose additional priority services for your Vietnam visa through VisaVietnam to shorten the processing time to 1 hour to 3 days, you will be required to pay an additional fee for the priority service.

- The entry gate name stated on the visa cannot be changed (either when submitting the visa application or after the visa has been issued). If there is a need to change the entry gate, a new visa application must be submitted.

- According to state regulations, after submitting the online application through the official Vietnam visa information portal (Public Service Portal of the Ministry of Public Security), it takes approximately 3 working days from the date of receiving complete information and completing the fee payment. Document submission is accepted from Monday to Saturday, and document retrieval is available from Monday to Friday, with holidays as per state regulations.

- Some visa applications may be invalid or contain incorrect information, leading to a processing time of 7-15 days due to errors made by the applicant. - visas cannot be issued for groups; each application is applicable to a single applicant at a time.

8.1. Is it necessary to fill in all information in the visa application form?

No, you only need to fill in the required fields marked in red and skip the others. All mandatory information for visa applications is outlined in the visa application process.

8.2. If unsure about the entry gate into Vietnam, can I still apply for an visa?

No, the entry gate must be specified during the online application process, and it cannot be changed later. The visa holder is only allowed to enter Vietnam through that specified entry gate. If you wish to change the entry gate, you need to submit a new visa application.

If there is uncertainty about the entry gate, it is recommended to apply for an visa upon arrival at the Vietnamese airport.

8.3. After receiving the visa, which entry routes can be used to enter Vietnam?

The visa is applicable at 42 entry points. Please refer to the list of authorized entry points.

8.4. How early should I submit an visa application?

Typically, it takes about 3 working days for the Immigration Department to process an visa application. However, processing times may vary depending on the number of applicants or public holidays. Therefore, it is advisable to submit the application 1-2 weeks before the planned entry to Vietnam.

8.5. How to find the registration code for an visa application?

After completing the registration form, the applicant will undergo a verification process to ensure the accuracy of the provided information and receive a confirmation code. This confirmation code is not sent to the applicant’s email, so it is essential to capture the registration code and save it somewhere easily accessible.

Without the registration code, the applicant cannot check the status of their electronic visa and download the visa.

8.6. Can I apply for multiple people at once through VisaVietnam??

No, each applicant can only submit an application for one person at a time.

8.7. Does VisaVietnam accept international payment methods?

Yes, VisaVietnam accepts international payment methods and ensures standard security when payments are made at www.Visavietnam.us.

8.8. Does VisaVietnam have a refund policy?

The refund policy applies to the fees for priority services provided by Visavienam if we fail to meet the terms regarding the processing time of the visa for customers.

The refund policy does not apply to the fees stipulated by the state (if the application is rejected due to invalid information provided by the applicant).

8.9. What are conditions for extending the visa for foreigners when it expires?

According to state regulations, conditions for extending the visa for foreigners when the current visa expires include

- The foreigner must be residing temporarily in Vietnam; The passport must be valid

- Having documents to prove the necessity and valid reasons for staying in Vietnam

- Businesses or organizations guaranteeing the extension must have a registered immigration account
